GLASS HALF FULL, OR HALF EMPTY?

GLASS HALF FULL, OR HALF EMPTY?
It was a question from a dear friend that brought this to mind. I was asked whether I was a “glass half empty, or a glass half full kinda person?” I’ve lived long enough to have come to the recognition and realization that a glass that’s half full, is also a glass that’s half empty. That in life most of our challenges come with potential blessings, and that most of our blessings come with potential challenges. That it's in the receiving of the challenge of our blessings, and the blessing of our challenges, that we realize the true value, potential, and possibility of the live, learn and grow experience that life offers to us.

More often than not we pass on the present, the blessing of our challenges, and the challenge of our blessings because we are mindfully not in the moment before us but somewhere back in our past, or somewhere out there in our future.

Some of my favorite insights about the past: “There is no future in your past.” “Don’t cheat on your future by dating your past.” “You have to release what is past to be able to receive what is present.”

“Let go of the past, but keep the lessons it taught you.” Chiara Gizzi

We are often encouraged to release our past and to be in and receive the present for the gift of infinite potential and possibility that it is. This is of course good counsel. I would add that while it is good to release the effect and affect of what is past on how you choose to be and live in the present, the moment and the now before you, the past may also be helpful to enable a better experience of the present, and the present helpful in empowering a better outcome in the future. Release from the past that which is hurtful and harmful, that which disables and disempowers, but receive that which is helpful, that which enables and empowers the potential for good in the present, and the possibility of what is next, better and best in the future.

THIS TOO SHALL PASS.
Hang in there. Comfort yourself knowing that life’s challenges are opportunities to possibly transcend and transition into a greater good. Reach within and claim your response-ability of strength, and the power to persevere, endure and accomplish the greater good that awaits you on the other side of this live, learn, and grow experience. We are with you in spirit, you are not and never alone

WILL YOU JOIN ME!?
As a younger man, my aspiration was for fame and fortune, but today I live in the hope and intention of a greater aspiration: the awakened, enlightened and illuminated consciousness of humanity. A consciousness that inspires us to transcend the distinction and discrimination of race, culture, creed, religion, gender, or gender orientation. A consciousness that enables us to connect and collaborate in harmony, union, and unity. A consciousness that empowers us to work together toward the individual and collective common good of all, a family of humanity, co-creating a world that offers each and all the promise of a life of peace, purpose, and prosperity. With each new day this aspiration continues and grows. There is much to be done. Will you join me?
