Affirmative Prayer
Charles Fillmore defined affirmative and true prayer as: "In true prayer we take with us words of Truth, a statement of Truth, or an affirmation, and turn our attention within to the very center of our being, where the Divine dwells. We affirm these words of Truth and meditate on them, then get very still and wait in the silence for God to make them real to us." Of all that is available to us in the human experience, prayer is our most essential and empowering spiritual practice. Prayer is the aligning of our consciousness with the true and the good that we desire to come into us and into manifestation in our lives. In prayer we do not pray to a God apart from us, we affirm what is true, right, and good from the awareness of Divine consciousness within us. Through the practice of prayer we release and receive, cleansing all that hinders, and claiming all that helps the realization within us, the demonstration through us, and the material manifestation in our lives and our world of the Divine truth, right, and good prepared for us, one and all.
